KCCK's Hot Summer Nights 2010
Jazz 88.3 presents "Hot Summer Nights 2010", an evening of music, dancing and refreshments, Saturday August 28th, 7:30pm at Cedar Ridge Winery. Hot Summer Nights was inspired by an event held exactly 10 years ago by our friends Diane Ramsey and Bruce Johnson. They actually staged a prom at their Cedar Rapids home, complete with organizing committees, decorations, live music, even an after prom breakfast party. Over 200 people attended. In the decade since, many people have asked them if they were ever going to do it again. Diane and Bruce suggested to us that it would be fun to have a "10-year prom reunion" and do it as a fund raiser for KCCK! The best part is, you don't have to have been at the first event to join us for our "Hot Summer Nights." Just put on your Sunday best, and be prepared to dance the night away. Hot Summer Nights will be held at Cedar Ridge Winery in Swisher, convenient to both Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. There will be hot sounds, too as Funk-Stop takes the stage to play hits by Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power and more. Tickets are $75, a portion of which will be a tax-deductible contribution to KCCK. Click here to buy tickets. What's the dress code? We encourage full prom formal finery, but if you don't care to go to those lengths, don't let that stop you from coming! Whatever is appropriate for an event where some will be dressed up is fine.
