Each spring, KCCK, First Avenue Wine House and the future chefs of Kirkwood's Culinary Arts Department collaborate for a night of wine, food and music on the Kirkwood campus.

Culinary Arts students cook and serve over 40 different dishes and hors d'oeurves, accompanied by a selection of wines hand-picked to complement each dish.

The lineup for that year's Jazz Under The Stars is revealed, with live music from the performers who will headline the August concerts in Noelridge Park. Proceeds go to support Jazz Under The Stars.

Schoolhouse Jazz

KCCK-FM is taking their jazz music format on the road to area schools through an educational outreach project. Several "Schoolhouse Jazz" programs will present the history of jazz and its importance in American culture.

The station has enlisted the help of Dennis McPartland and other well-known local musicians to share stories and musical demonstrations with elementary schools in Cedar Rapids. The program incorporates discussion, demonstration and performance in one-hour presentations to assembled students.
