Host Craig Kessler takes a listen to the nearly forgotten talents of this great pianist during his final decade. We’ll hear Hawes as a leader of his own groups, as well as work as a sideman with a number of artists such as Art Pepper, Art Farmer, Sonny Criss, and others.

The Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra, the state’s premier all-female ensembles, took the 2022 Jazz Under the Stars stage for a night of great swing. The Noelridge Park crowd was eager for a night of big band standards, original arrangements, and some fun surprises.
