Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre invites everyone to be a part of an upcoming celebration that encompasses both Halloween and Day of the Dead, part of Eulenspiegel’s 50th birthday celebration. Eulenspiegel founder Monica Leo says she has noticed on travels to Mexico that Halloween has begun to be included in traditional Day of the Dead celebrations. And immigrant communities like West Liberty incorporate the Mexican holiday in the same way.
An additional twist will be to tell some local and regional ghost stories, some from puppeteer Stephanie Vallez’s own family history!
The Eulenspiegel studio will be open for anyone to help create the show Oct. 23 & 24, with the performance on Oct. 30. Another part of the 50th birthday celebration will be a “Happy Hour” on Oct. 17 with refreshments and viewing of a classic Eulenspiegel performance from the past.
