The Cedar Rapids Municipal Band always plays patriotic music headed into the July 4th holiday. But director Steve Shanley will bring in other facets of American music at this week’s concerts, including selections from the Great American Songbook featuring singer Amy Friedl Stoner, and the quintessentially American story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons with music from “Jersey Boys.”
Come early on Wednesday and also hear a preview concert with Brass Trasnit Authority, playing the music of Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears, which come to think of it, is also uniquely American music!
Wednesday, June 30 at Bever Park and Sunday, July 4 in Guthridge Park. 7:30pm. Details at www.crmuniband.org.
