Tim Hankewich’s birthday is Nov. 7, and as a part of Orchestra Iowa’s 100th season, he is giving a rare performance on piano with his friend, world-renowned cellist, Zuill Bailey, as well as the Orchestra’s Madeline Capistron, violin.
They’ll perform a program that Tim says is pretty challenging for a “recovering pianist,” including Chopin and Brahms. And in a unique venue, the Paramount’s Hall of Mirrors.
Reservation deadline is fast approaching, so call the Orchestra Iowa ticket office to make reservations, 319.366.8203.
It will be a busy week for Tim. Right after the Monday show, he’ll board a plane for New York, where he’ll be an assistant conductor for the New York Philharmonic’s “Jurassic Park” play-along show, fresh off Orchestra Iowa’s successful performance last week. He also talks a little about the challenge of keeping the orchestra in sync with film.
