Culture Crawl 777 “I’m Gonna Need to Borrow a Winter Coat”
Iowa City West High alum, bassist Emiliano Lasansky returns to his alma mater this weekend, along with his friend, trumpeter Julien Knowles to be the featured clinicians and guest artists for West’s annual Jazz Cafè on Dec. 10.
Emiliano and Julien are both current members of the prestigious Herbie Hancock Institute jazz ensemble, a 2- year program that has them performing and clinicing with some of today’s leading musicians (including Herbie himself), as well as performing and teaching on their own.
The Jazz Cafè is Dec. 10 at 7pm, featuring the three West High jazz bands, along with Emiliano and Julien. Admission is $10, $5 for students and seniors.
