Short List with host Bob Naujoks
Monday – Friday at 8:35 AM and Saturday at 7 AM
Bradley’s
This week’s Short List is the story of Bradley’s – a small, friendly jazz club in New York. Owned by Bradley Cunningham, a fair modern pianist himself, the club featured piano and bass duos over the years. Bradley’s opened in 1969 and closed 26 years later. All the great New York modern pianists flourished there.
Jazz Corner of the World with host Craig Kessler
Monday, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Mode Records
Craig spotlights the short-lived Hollywood, California jazz label from 1957, Mode Records. With some 29 releases to their credit, featured artists include Thad Jones, Pepper Adams, Warne Marsh, Clora Bryant, Marty Paich, and many others. Some eye-popping jazz that, for the most part, languishes in obscurity. You’ll be glad that you tuned in!
Jazz Profiles with host Nancy Wilson

Benny Waters
As a player whose incredible longevity linked him to the jazz pioneers, Benny Waters reemerged late in life as one of the great, unsung saxophonists in jazz. He had played with all the legends — King Oliver, Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford, and Hot Lips Page. After a forty-year stay in France, Waters returned to the United States. In the final years of his life he was discovered by a new generation and was very active: playing jazz festivals, composing, recording, and telling stories.
