The Artistry of Joe Farrell

On this special live Monday evening show, Craig spins goodies from the relatively short career of reedman Joe Farrell. We’ll listen to a dozen discs that feature Farrell as a leader on CTI, Xanadu, Contemporary, and others.  We’ll also hear a number of recordings that feature Joe as a sideman, from artists like Chick Corea, Elvin Jones, Jaki Byard, George Cables, Andrew Hill, and others.

Funk Daddies at Jazz Under the Stars

We’re just a month away from the Last Big Party of the Summer – KCCK’s Jazz Under the Stars! Before this year’s artists hit the stage, let’s jam one more time with the standout shows from 2018. First up are the Funk Daddies from their 2011 gig (they got rained out last year; but not to worry – they groove us all this August). Excuse us while we do the boogaloo.
