Steve Grismore brings his trio to the final Jazz Under the Stars Aug. 22. The group features Steve on guitar, Mitch Towne on organ, and Tim Crumely, drums. They recently performed at the Iowa City Jazz Festival and brought the crowd to its feet with fresh takes on the organ trio style popularized by Grant Green, Pat Martino, as well as some Grismore originals. Also performing is “Ship of Fools,” an Eastern Iowa Arts Academy band lead by Steve and Craig Erickson’s student, Carter Buske, who won several jazz awards last year as a high school freshman.
