Culture Crawl 978 “You Can’t Have a Pony!”

Like many children, Carole Gauger asked her parents for a pony. But unlike most of us, she never quit asking. And saved her babysitting money until she was able to purchase a horse on her own.

This led Carole to become one of the country’s leading horse trainer and breeders. She also played a leading role in breeding Lipazzan horses in the U.S. and founded the U.S. Lipazzan Registry, which now has more than a thousand entries.

Carole tells the story of her life through the many horses she has owned, trained, and loved in her memoir “Livery to Lipazzans,” available now at Prairie Lights and on Amazon.

Carole is a member of The Guild Writers Group, which meets at the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library. The Guild welcomes new members anytime. Contact the Museum to find out the meeting schedule.
