Madrigals were a popular form of choral singing in the 14th and 15th centuries, and live on today because they are fun to sing and listen to, with each vocal part often singing different (but complementary) melodies and lyrics all at the same time.
Today, madrigals are often performed at dinners and other events that feature period costumes and foods. Go back in time with the Iowa City Madrigal Dinner Dec.13-14. Proceeds going to United Action for Youth. Tickets are going fast! Get yours at wwwiowacitymadrigal.com.
