Every month, KCCK calls your attention to a new release we think is especially noteworthy. The KCCK Featured Album for October is “Around the World” by Oscar Peterson. In honor of Mr. Peterson’s centennial, the disc celebrates the pianist’s profound artistry through solo, duo and trio performances from 1969 to 1981, featuring never-before-heard live concerts from Detroit, Basel, Switzerland, Auckland, New Zealand, and his home of Toronto. The disc is part of a new 4-CD or 6-LP “World Tour” box set with a 20-page booklet. “Around the World” from Oscar Peterson, on Mack Avenue Records, is KCCK’s Featured Album for October.
