CPB Diversity Statement

Updated Oct. 1, 2019

KCCK-FM is committed to diversity based on sex, race, creed, religion, national origin, color, disability, marital status, sexual orientation and gender variance for the purpose of service, employment, membership or leadership, including staff, volunteers, and persons who receive our services.

Our staff reflects this goal. Of the seven full-time staff members, one is a person of color, and one of our senior leaders is a female. Our part-time staff includes a person of color and two with disabilities.

KCCK’s programming is the epitome of diversity, as jazz is America’s first indigenous musical art form, created and nurtured by African-Americans and those of Latin heritage. Every day, KCCK celebrates the artistry and history of the music and musicians of these diverse cultures.

KCCK’s governing board is the publicly-elected Kirkwood Board of Trustees. Three of the nine members are female. Broadly, KCCK’s diversity efforts consist of abiding by the equal opportunity and diversity policies of our licensee. As a public, state-funded educational institution, Kirkwood is committed to diversity in its staff and faculty to serve its equally diverse student body.
