Jarrett Purdy is an Iowa City native, now finishing up his degree at the University of Iowa, who has been playing regularly in Eastern Iowa since high school.
He teamed up with friends Nolan Schroeder, Jim Buennig, Joey Schnoebelen, Blake Shaw, and Christopher Jensen on his first CD “Motion and Stillness,” a disc of all-original music.
The first of several CD release parties takes place at First Friday Jazz in Cedar Rapids on April 5 from 5-7pm. The sextet will perform tunes from the CD, and it will be available for purchase. You can also get the CD at his other album release celebrations, April 11 at Noce in Des Moines, and April 29 at Voxman Hall at the UI.
