The 85th anniversary celebration of Blue Note Records continues as host Craig Kessler presents a wonderful variety of tunes from Bobby Hutcherson’s long-time association with the label. Craig explores many of the 50-plus recordings Hutcherson made during his time with Blue Note.

Trumpeter Tom Harrell brought his two-bass, no-piano sextet, Colors of a Dream, to the 2014 Iowa City Jazz Festival, with Wayne Escoffery on tenor sax, Jaleel Shaw on alto, Johnathan Blake on drums, Ugonna Okegwo on bass, and Esperanza Spalding on bass and vocals. The Festival crowd was treated to an exciting set that took jazz in a new direction.
