Commons Collective Tops Jazz Under the Stars Poll

Jazz Under the Stars 2014A group of UNI graduates, most of whom hail from Cedar Rapids, nabbed the top spot on KCCK’s Best of Jazz Under The Stars poll.

Commons Collective played Jazz Under the Stars in 2014, and have also been one of the most popular groups to play at First Friday Jazz. Congratulations to Brian, Nolan, Jon, Joel, and Chris for being named the Favorite Jazz Under the Stars show!

However, a special Honorable Mention must go to Iowa’s Salsa Band, Orquesta Alto Maiz. TWO of their shows made the Top 15, the 2006 20th anniversary performance, and the 2012 show that featured the farewell performance from several of the founding members.
