Vocal Short List: Arthur Prysock
The deep-voiced Arthur Prysock started out under the influence of Billy Eckstine, but soon found his own way. His first fame came with the mid-1940s band of saxophonist Buddy Johnson. In the mid-1960s he would record with the Count Basie Orchestra. In 1987, he received a Grammy nomination for a duet on “Teach Me tonight.”

Corridor Jazz Concert 2018
As we celebrate April’s Jazz Appreciation Month KCCK highlights the talent of our high school student musicians. The Wednesday Night Special features the 2018 Corridor Jazz Concert. Musicians from the Corridor’s high school jazz ensembles worked with guest professionals, on a chart, recorded it for a CD, and performed it live at the new Voxman Hall at the University of Iowa.
